About us
A rural church just minutes from busy suburbs – and the best of both
Many who worship here live outside the immediate Charlestown township, a small historic village in semi-rural northern Chester County of Pennsylvania (6,000 people & 2,200 homes). While the immediate area is relatively affluent, we live in and serve many nearby demographically diverse communities, including Phoenixville (pop. 16,000), Kimberton and Great Valley. Worship both engages people to both think about their faith and put it into action and Charlestown UMC people are active and engaged in serving others. Members are open, warm & supportive, with diverse, un-dogmatic viewpoints. Although few youth, ages are otherwise diverse. Post-Covid, CUMC blended in-person with online live streaming worship.
